KARA TAYLOR, Managing Director for FBI Talent Co.

One Club for Creativity, Denver Chapter May 2018-June 2019 President

TAP| What would you say most motivated you to assume the role of president?

KT| I’ve been fortunate enough to be a member and able to participate in the One Club for Creativity’s events in New York from the very early days of my career. It always has been an experience that left me inspired and very proud to be able to work in an industry that showcases the power of creativity and creative people. Once I learned more about the Denver Chapter, it was impossible to say no to the opportunity to lead and grow with this organization!

TAP| In regards to the organization, what goals or projects are you most passionate about?

KT| It is really hard to single out just one! I’m proud we are doing more to provide mentorship to the next generation of makers, and I’m excited to experience my first ever Paper Fashion Show in the Spring and continue to incorporate the spirit of this marquee event into everything we do.

TAP| What has been the most surprising to you about being president?

KT| I’m blown away by the level of commitment our board members and volunteers give to this organization. Everyone is volunteering, no one gets a raise or promotion for the work they are doing for the club. It’s 100% pure passion and commitment and it’s extremely inspiring to work among people who care this much about what we provide to the creative community.

TAP| What is one of the toughest challenges your organization is facing?

KT| We have big ambitions to create more, and to enhance our experiences and events for the creative community. As a volunteer run organization, the more people we have involved to develop and implement new and purposeful programming, the more we can give back to the community.

TAP| Why is it important for companies to support their employees in their desire to volunteer for business organizations?

KT| Growth and leadership development are just two reasons, and why wouldn’t a company support their employee’s ambition to further develop their passions, especially when at the same time they will be brand ambassadors for your company? When you let your employees shine inside and outside of your company, everyone wins.

TAP| With so many great organizations to support, why should people support yours?

KT| This is true! The One Club has a strong legacy of celebrating creativity and creative people in the marketing and design community. Our events are tailored to local makers in an effort to showcase their skills and passions and enhance and develop their understanding of our business. Everything we do, from the spectacular Paper Fashion show, to the student mentorship program, Annual Show and the very festive Art Bus event, is all non for profit…every penny we earn goes right back into providing more of everything we can, to the creative community.

TAP| How can TAP readers support The One Club?

KT| Get involved! We would love more volunteers, more members and more feedback on the kind of events you’d like to see the One Club for Creativity’s Denver Chapter bring to you in Colorado! Keep up to date by visiting our website or social feeds. Everyone is welcome to participate!
